PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENTS FOR ADULTS

Adelaide Clinical Psychology provides psychological assessments for adults in Adelaide, helping individuals better understand how their mind works. Our registered psychologists take a holistic approach to assessments, using proven, reliable tests combined with relevant background and medical history to deliver thorough, reliable results.

If you have been wondering why some aspects of daily life feel harder than they should, a psychological assessment can help provide meaningful answers.

Assessment for Adults

Our psychologists are experienced in assessing a range of conditions that affect attention, learning, and behaviour. Each assessment is conducted in a quiet, comfortable environment free of noise and distractions. We offer a range of assessments for adults, including:

ADHD Assessments (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder affects focus, impulse control, and the ability to manage tasks. Many adults get assessed after recognising long-standing patterns of inattention, restlessness, or difficulty following through on responsibilities.

ADD Assessment (Attention Deficit Disorder)

Attention Deficit Disorder is a term commonly used to describe attention and concentration difficulties without prominent hyperactivity, although it is now classified as inattentive ADHD. A psychological assessment will help clarify whether attention-related challenges are present and how they may be affecting daily functioning.

ASD Assessments (Autism Spectrum Disorder)

Autism Spectrum Disorder affects how individuals process information, communicate, and interact with others. An assessment can help adults who have long experienced social difficulties or felt different from others but never had a clear explanation for why.

Learning Disorder Assessments

Learning disorders or difficulties affect how individuals process, retain, and apply information. They can impact performance at work, in further study, and in everyday tasks that require reading, writing, or numerical reasoning. Assessments can help identify the causes of these difficulties.

Dyslexia Assessments:

Dyslexia is a specific learning difficulty that primarily affects reading and spelling. It is not a reflection of intelligence. An assessment can identify whether it is present, informing practical strategies for managing its impact.

Signs That an Assessment May Be Helpful

Many adults seek psychological assessments after noticing ongoing mental or behavioural patterns that are difficult to explain. You may consider an assessment if you regularly ask yourself the following questions:

Why do I find it difficult to initiate tasks at work or university?
Why do I consistently forget important information or appointments?
Why do I frequently misplace essential items?
Why am I constantly disorganised despite my best efforts?
Why do I find it challenging to maintain focus when completing a complex assignment?
Why do I experience frequent periods of severe boredom or restlessness?

A formal assessment can provide clarity and, where applicable, a clear diagnosis and practical recommendations.

Our Assessment Process

Our evaluation process is structured to be transparent, thorough, and entirely focused on your unique needs. We abide by the AHPRA Code of Conduct for Psychologists, ensuring the highest standard of clinical care.
